'Arrangement'     /      6x6 in      /    oil on gessoed board

I really enjoy painting amber bottles. They all look dark brown at first. But, if you put it under the light,  some are slightly greenish, some have reddish tint. After all I like the subtle colors.  Here are some of my favourite amber bottles with daisies that I picked up this spring back in May.

I was so into painting fried eggs a few months ago. Cracked and cooked almost two dozens within 10 days and kept painting them. And this painting is one of the results.

'Sky'     /    6x6 in     /  oil on gessoed board

I know we always like to daydream while looking at the sky. I miss those days. It gives an endless daydreams. I stretched and explored my imaginations through watching sky and clouds when I was a little. It's too bad that we often forget to look up and take a moment to see the natural beauty. Phone screens are replacing the natural beauties. Hope this sky painting reminds you to look up sometimes - at least for today.

'Untitled'    /    6x6 in    /  oil on gessoed board

I am having a lazy Saturday - treating myself with rosemary scent which one of essential oils that I bought recently. I put a few drops in my diffuser and my studio smells nice now. It makes even  better place to be. I think I'll stay in my studio until the scent disappears. Have a nice weekend, everyone !

'Sunflower'    /   6x6 in   /   oil on gessoed board

Once I asked my grandmother why we called it a sunflower when I was a little girl. I was very na├»ve and curious at that time. She said that they admire the sun so much that they turn their heads wherever it goes and that's why. Probably she wanted to give me the world of imagination to think instead of scientific ways.

And it worked! Instead of thinking of photosynthetic, I think of commitments when I see sunflowers. Hey, look! This sunflower is looking at you right now.

My Reading Buddy

'My Reading Buddy' / 6x6 in / oil on gessoed board

My lamp's swing arm was at its' the lowest position when I was painting these glasses to make the round shape of shadow. They are actually rectangular shaped frame. It is interesting to see how lighting makes different perception of obstacles.

By the way, I was uploading paintings in periodical orders but I just realized that I skipped a f ew paintings. Oh well, my bad.

Big Tube

'Big Tube'   /  5x7 in  / oil on gessoed board

One day of June, I was searching something on Google. I don't remember what exactly I was looking for at the moment (probably a tube for my summer vacation?).  But somehow I came across with this photo and liked it. Then painted it on the same day.

Outdoor Yoga

'Outdoor Yoga/  / 5x7 in / oil on gessoed board

The word 'yoga' always gives me calm feeling. It's interesting how a single word can comfort one's mind and offers a inner peace (although it lasts only for a few minutes - it's still good).   Words have powers !

Pink Roses

'Pink Roses'  /  5x5 in  / oil on gessoed board

Hello, who might have waited for me to come back! I know that I had taken a long break from my blog. My apologies! The moving in this March had slowed me down from uploading pictures. But I am back now - it's better late than ever, right?

Although I was a bit lazy uploader, my brushes were being kept busy most of the time. There were many many "throw a ways" but there were some that I am happy to share. So here is a first piece!  It's "Pink Roses".

Whole & Half

'Whole & Half"     5x5 in       oil on gessoed board

I had 5 hours to paint. Thought that it would be plenty of time to paint 3 apples and half on 5x5" panel - I was wrong. I barely finished this painting on time. I had to rush myself  driving to my son's school to get him. I even didn't have time to wash off paints on my hands. Simple things are not simple sometimes.

♪ ♫  I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid

Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

The Town
