The Bottle

'The Bottle'          6x6 in        Oil in panel

I painted apples again. It's with a glass bottle this time though. Painting glass bottles are challenging. For me, it is eaier to paint glasswares when there are other objects behind them. I guess that's because I have some image to describe which is always fun.

Also glasswares create distorted shapes that are always interesting to look at ( also paint). And they make very nice high lights. So it is challenging but very fun.

I should take a break from painting apples for a while and try other things - probably glass bottles.

Playing with Shadow

Playing with Shadow        6x6 in        oil on panel

Painting shadow is fun to experiment. Probably, neutral gray colors work best for painting shadows because they bring out the main objects and make them pop up. And I usually paint them so. But I think ,sometimes, the shadow can be little more colorful. That's what I tried to do for this one - making the shadows as colorful as the apples.
